Beverly Hollis, 77, passed away May 17, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Brewer, July 26, 1940, daughter of Ellery and Mae (Hart) Adams.
As a teenager Beverly worked at Freese’s Department Store and later at Merrill Bank. After her boys went to school she went back to work at Merrill Bank until her retirement. Upon retirement she and her good friend Cathy Maxsimic opened Touch of the Past in Brewer. Beverly enjoyed collecting antiques and fine treasures. She was best known for always putting family and others before herself.
She was predeceased by her brother, Ellery Adams, Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Ronald P. Hollis of Brewer; two sons, Gregory Hollis and wife, Areti Vraka of Hampden, Stephen Hollis and Rosemary Bezanson of Winterport; two grandsons, Alexander and Colby Hollis; her former daughter-in-law, Laura Hollis.
Special thanks to her numerous friends who she thought the world of.
Beverly’s family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Beacon Hospice and Brewer Center for Health and Rehabilitation for the support and compassion they provided.
A celebration of her life will be held 5 pm to 7 pm. Wednesday May 23, 2018 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave. Hampden.
Private interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
