Obituary for Charles Francis Phillips

Bangor - Charles F. Phillips, 72, passed away April 28, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born June 10, 1945, in Boston, MA, the son of Chester Phillips and Lois Parsons Lane.

At the age of 5, he and his family moved to Bridgton, ME. Charles graduated from Bridgton High School in 1963, and went on to graduate from the University of Maine with a Masters in Education. He was a Vietnam War veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Charlie and Cynthia (Rollins) Phillips, were married on July 10, 1970. They had two children, Andrea and Steven.

From 1972 to 1982, he was an Elementary School Principal in Belfast, ME, before moving to Pittsfield, ME, were he was the Elementary School Supervisor until he retired in 2000.

Charlie's life was dedicated to his family and the children and teachers in his schools.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Steven K. Phillips. Charles is survived by his wife, Cynthia; daughter, Andrea Hardison, and her husband, Bryan; granddaughter, Elizabeth Hardison, and his sister, Joyce Rose.

A service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the First Congregational Church of Bridgton, 33 South High St., Bridgton.
