The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jordan J. Shubert, MD can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Dear Dr Shubert's Family ... I cannot tell you how sad I am to hear of Dr. Shubert's passing. I worked for him from 1981 to 1988.. and he also operated on my knees in 1985 and 2006... I looked up to him and respected him so much . He was like a second dad to me and used to tease me about my weekends when I'd leave work thru his office (when his office was on the top of State Street hill) and tell me I'd better behave over the weekend... he was such a great boss (I left working for him to become a full time mother) and he was very supportive of that decision ... I stopped in to visit a few times at his office over the years before he retired and he also saw my dad (I always went with my dad) and helped him with his knees and hips. His bed side manner as a Dr was unlike no other I have seen ... always made you feel he had all day to listen and take care of you even when he had a whole waiting room full of patients waiting to see him ... his laugh was so contagious ... just a very sweet man. I truly am sad for all of his family ... may you all be comforted in your memories of him and feel him near you when you need him most ... God bless you all... ❤️♥️❤️

Condolence From: Bill Barker
Condolence: My condolences to the Shubert family, While I did not know Dr.Shubert very long, I will always remember what he said to me just before a very contentious planning board meeting. He leaned over and said "Bill- we've got your back!". That meant a lot and made me feel more confident. As are many, I am saddened to learn of Dr Shubert's passing. 'May the Lord bless him, and keep him.'
With deepest sympathy,
Bill Barker,Surry Planning Board Chair

Condolence: I was so saddened to hear of Jay's sudden passing. I came to know him through his work on the board of Surry Arts at the Barn, where he was a strong leader and voice of reason for the last several years. We will miss his steady leadership, knowledge, and input. Good-bye, Jay.

Condolence: Jen and Family - Your dad was one of my favorite doctors. I worked for him for many years and he was always so kind to both myself and my family. He operated on several of my family and was also so kind to all of them. He always had a kind word whenever I saw him over the years. We have all lost a great man and I offer my sincere sympathy to all of you.
