Glenna M.  Cunningham (Rines)
Bangor - Glenna M. (Rines) Cunningham, 82, died March 13, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor. She was born July 9, 1935 in Houlton, the daughter of Cecil and Mary (Myshrall) Rines. Glenna attended schools in Houlton, graduating from Houlton High School in 1953. After graduation, she was variously employed as a Secretary at Doherty and Roach Law Firm, Claims Clerk for U.S.F.N.G. Insurance, and Secretary to the President of Ricker College, before employment with Bangor and Aroostook Railroad, where she was employed for 35 years as a Secretary to various Superintendents, and Supervisor of Train Dispatching, retiring July 24, 1995. She shared interest with Vernon watching and attending Red Sox games, traveling, which included many trips to Florida and Boothbay Harbor, and gardening together. Glenna was an avid reader with an extensive library, and advocate for animals. Glenna is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Cunningham III, and one brother, Roger M. Rines of Bryant Pond. She is also survived by Vernon’s adult children, Vernon Cunningham IV and spouse Karen, Kevin Cunningham, Daniel Cunningham, and Ruth Mewa and spouse Edward, also his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday March 19, 2018 at St. Mary of the Visitation, 110 Military St., Houlton. Spring interment will be private for the family. Those wishing to remember Glenna in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society 693 Mt. Hope Ave, Bangor, Maine 04401.
