Obituary for Lynwood Michael Sulinski

Surry - Lynwood (Lyn) Michael Sulinski, 81, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Old Town, Lyn was the son of Peter and Stephanie (Wozneak) Sulinski. Following his high school graduation from Old Town High School, he married his first wife, Jennine Lyon, creating a family of five children – Lynn, Stephania, Michael, Mark and Ann. During those years he worked for the family contracting business – PJ Sulinski & Sons. He also served in the Air National Guard until 1964.

Following his divorce, he met the love of his life, Dale Dupuis, whom he married and who brought into the family a step-daughter - Cynthia Moosey. They then made a home in Surry where they shared many adventures on the 40’ boat (Wickedness) he built from the hull up. He continued as a contractor, and a superb finish carpenter. He also became a lobsterman. Lyn had a passion for the ocean and was never happier than being on his boat. He & Dale made several trips on the Intracoastal Waterway from Maine to Florida. They spent many happy years together until her death in January of 2013.

Three years ago, he met Claire Luce, who shared his Surry home and they had a very loving relationship. She, along with his children, Lynn & Michael, spent many hours sitting vigil at his bedside in the days & hours up to his death.

He is survived by his five children and step-daughter, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his sister Joan (Sulinski) Lavoie of Arizona, and great-aunt Polly (Sulinski) Kelly and many close friends in Surry.
Services will be private for the family. His ashes will be returned to the sea in the Spring; joining Dale in the Cove they both loved so much.
