Gladys (Gerry) McCann, 82, passed away October 2, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Newport, August 30, 1935, daughter of Emery and Florence (Murray) Gerry.
Gladys moved to her home in Newburgh when she was 6 years old. She was raised by Marion and Roy Gatchell. Gladys found her true love, Thomas and they married in June 1953 and raised 6 children; they always felt blessed. They spent 44 years building family memories. She was fortunate to find love a second time with Ellery Barker. She lived her dream until her last breath with family by her side.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to, hospice nurse Christine Hanna and team, care giver, Emily Gallant, the Westgate Day Program, My Friends Place and Memory Makers Day Classes and Elderly Independence of Maine. Without them we would not have been able to have her in her own home. Also Dr. Singer and his team at Acadia who provided the alzheimers clinical trial which gave her an additional 1 ½ years with good quality of life. Chaplain David Gardiner for sharing his music by playing guitar and singing to her. She enjoyed every one of your visits.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas McCann III; two brothers, John and Robert Gerry; a sister-in-law, Betty Ann Hazelton.
Surviving are six children, Timmy and his wife Teresa, Diane and her partner, Raymond, Terry and his partner, Cricket, Lori and her husband, Kurt, Lisa and her husband, Terry, Tommy and his wife, Missy; grandchildren, Angela and Roger, Tim Jr. and Amy, Kristy, Jamie and Chris, Chelsey, Taylor and Robert, Chance, Mandy, Timothy, Edwin ,Jayden, Andi, Ellie, Kinsley, Grasyn, Keegan, Ryan, Chip and Mary, Jessica and Jeff, Melissa and Stephan, Travis and Erika, Brooke and McKayla, Kiana, Kayla and Kaleb, Brianna, Cameron, Aliyah, Tristain, Mason, Kayson, Liviana, Gracelynn, Terry Jr. and Shianne, Tyler and Becky, Bruce, Jonathan and Becky, Kalista and Kenny, Meagan and Jake, Olivia, Marianna, Jen and Jon, Justin and Arica, Isabelle, Nikolas, Charlotte, Brandon, Thomas and Jazlyn and Ian.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 5 to 7 pm. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 3 pm. Friday, October 6, 2017. The family invites all to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service.
