Teresa (Murphy) McHale, 104, wife of the late Arthur E. McHale, died peacefully, September 22, 2017 at her home. She was born in Brewer, August 16, 1913, the daughter of Donald and Martha Ann (Lanigan) Murphy.
She was a graduate of John Bapst High School, class of 1930. Teresa was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish and a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a charter member of St. Mary’s Sodality Council.
Teresa is survived by a son, William R. McHale of Bangor, a daughter, Katherine P. (McHale) Powell of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.; sister-in-law, Winnifred E. Murphy, of Holden; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Arthur of 55 years; a son-in-law, Douglas R. Powell of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. ; two sisters, Alice M. Lytikainen of CT., and Helena Murphy; five brothers, John William, Raymond, James, Francis and Leo.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 pm. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10 am. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception in the church hall, immediately after the service.
Those wishing to remember her in a special way, may make donations in her memory to All Saints Catholic School, P.O. Box 1749, Bangor, ME. 04402-01749.
