Obituary for Susie Dwelley Seymour (Dwelley)

Susie Dwelley Seymour (Dwelley)
BREWER & BANGOR – Susie (Dwelley) Seymour, 83, passed away to be with the Lord September 4, 2017 at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Stockton Springs, Maine on May 16th, 1934, the youngest daughter of George and Marion Dwelley.

Susie married Dion Seymour Sr November 23rd, 1951 and they were married for 64 years until Dion’s passing in 2015. They had one son Dion Seymour Jr. and had several foster children over the years. Susie was a loving wife, mother, friend, counselor, Grammy and “GG”. She loved the outdoors and all of God’s creatures, most especially dogs, deer, squirrels and birds. Susie absolutely loved hearing a good story from anyone and everyone and if you take a moment you can still hear the sound of her laughing. She loved her coffee, crackers & milk, “Coffee Pot” sandwiches, cooking, gardening and being a Sunday school teacher. She was a voraciously competitive Uno and Parcheesi player and loved her computer Mahjong. May the Lord help you if you were ever between Susie and a yard sale, she would have gone through you and of course she would have quickly and lovingly apologized, but only after she had picked the place clean. She loved her family, her friends, Jesus, singing in the church choir, haggling for a bargain and reading her Bible. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and will be forever cherished in all of our hearts.

In addition to her parents, Susie was predeceased by her husband, Dion Seymour Sr.; a son, Dion Seymour Jr.; three brothers; Bert White, Donald Dwelley, and Carlton Dwelley; and three sisters, Winnefred Ward, Katherine Gordon and Maxine Green. Susie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Seymour; foster children, Jamie James, Patricia and Tim Bovee, Karen and Pete Prince; grandchildren, Jeremy Seymour, Michael and Lisa Seymour, Dawn and Mark D’Angelo, Melissa and Karl Larson, Kenneth James, Bryan and Heather James, Sarah and David Allen, Sean Bovee, Alex Deck; 14 great-grandchildren; and her loving boyfriend and doting companion, Forrest Southard.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Randy Washington, pastor of the Bradley Baptist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Susie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bradley Family Worship Center, P.O. Box 162, Bradley, ME, 04411.
