Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Marjorie Moore can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Life Story for Marjorie Anne Moore

BANGOR- Marjorie Anne Moore, 84, passed away on August 21, 2017. She was born on September 5, 1932 in Columbus, OH to the late Edward and Margaret (Howells) Moore and step daughter to the late professor Herbert J. Edwards.
Marjorie moved to Orono in 1947 and graduated from Orono High School in 1950. She continued her education at the University of Maine, graduating in 1954 and later receiving her Master’s degree in Library Science in 1972 also from the University of Maine, Orono.
She worked at Fogler Library while in college and worked for a short time as a school librarian at Monticello Junior High School in Lewiston, ME and also a children’s librarian at the South Portand Public Library. Most of Marjorie’s career was spent at various positions through the Bangor Libraries where she retired in 1991 as the head of Technical Services.
Keeping with Marjorie’s wishes, services will be private. Those who wish to remember Marjorie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Orono Animal Shelter, P.O.
