GLENBURN AND ORONO - Patricia Lee Champeon, 80, of Glenburn, ME, died August 17, 2017 at Dirigo Pines, Orono, ME. She was born July 10, 1937 in Lewiston, ME, the first of three children of the late Lyman Lloyd Jr. and Dorothy May (Ritchie) Arnold.

Pat attended schools in Hartford, CT; Old Town and Bangor before graduating from Berkeley HS, CA in 1956.

She married Alfred J. LeClair of Orono in July 1956 and they had three children. That marriage ended in 1978. She married D. Bruce Champeon in November 1983. In 1997, after a 25 year career in personnel and administration with USDA, Soil Conservation Service / Natural Resources Conservation Service in ME and NH, she retired as Assistant State Conservationist for Administration.

Pat will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include three children - Deborah J. Emero and husband Tom of MA, Brian T. LeClair of FL, and David J. LeClair and wife Gail of FL.; her husband Bruce; two stepsons - Steven J. Champeon and wife Heather of NC and Kenneth A. Champeon of ME; seven grandchildren - Aaron LeClair, Allison Smith, Addam LeClair, Eric LeClair, Sarah LeClair, Marissa Marcoux and Benjamin Emero; ten great-grandchildren - Colby Smith, Noah LeClair, Eleanor LeClair, Arianna LeClair, Deacon LeClair, Kara LeClair, Colson LeClair, Joseph LeClair, Isaiah Hines and Elijah Hines; a brother - Lloyd Arnold and wife Judy and family of CA; a stepsister, Lois Morin and husband Robert of ME; and a special aunt, Joyce Coyne of ME. She was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Mary Arnold; a stepsister, Pauline Gazaleh; and a brother, Robert Arnold.

Pat's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and other staff at Dirigo Pines in Orono and to Hospice of Eastern Maine for making her stay as comfortable as possible.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a memorial reception 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
