Joan Bernice  Gomm
BANGOR – Joan B. Gomm passed away Sunday July 9, 2017 at Eastern Maine Medical Center peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Joan was born in Castine on September 10, 1945. She enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid wrestling fan and especially loved spending time with her family and was affectionally known as “Gram”.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Everett and Gertrude Nevells of Penobscot, her parents, Earl and Erma Gray of Penobscot, twin brother Johnny Gray of Houlton, brothers Durwood Gray of Machias, and Earl Gray Jr. of Penobscot, son in law Dwayne “Tom” Murphy of Dedham, daughter in law Michelle Gomm of South Carolina, and grandson Charles Gomm, III of South Carolina.

She is survived by her two brothers Galen Gray of Bucksport and David Gray of New York. She is also survived by her children, Judith Larry and partner Charles Walsh of Clifton, Jessie Gomm of Bangor, Charles Gomm Jr. and spouse Theresa Gomm of North Carolina, Amy Murphy of Dedham, Karen Blenkhorn of Old Town, Earl “Billy” Gomm of South Carolina, Lance Gomm and spouse Jennifer Gomm of Bangor, and her very best friends, Eva Allen of Brooksville and great-granddaughter Jasmine MacGregor Gray of Bangor.
She was also the proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Alicia Gray and partner Mick Walker, Matt Gray, Kassie Gray and partner Michael Robertson, Roland Blenkhorn, Russell Blenkhorn, Ryan Curtis, Brandon Gomm, Kristie Jackson, Kristin Hammond, Katherine Gomm, Carolina Gomm, Amber Gomm-Little and spouse Mario Little, Delcina Gomm and Mykayla Dawes. As well as great-grandchildren Terrance MacGregor, Bella Robertson, Katie Robertson, Bryson Dameron, Tyler Gray, Emma Gray, Iciania Burgess and great-great grandchildren Kai Gomm, Nadiah Curtis, and Haley Hammond.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of EMMC ICU unit and Brookings-Smith.

There will be a Celebration of Joan’s Life on Saturday July 22, 2017 at Comins Hall in Eddington, ME from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. open to anyone who would like to attend.
