On June 30, 2017, heaven gained another angel, Theodore H. Leighton, (better known as “Ted”), passed away at an area hospital. Born on September 28, 1949 to Evelyn (McAlpine) and Robert “Irving” Leighton.
Ted grew up in Monroe and graduated from Mt. View High School. A mechanic by trade he took over his father’s garage in 1994.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, brother, Irving “Hezzie” Leighton, nephew, Peter and sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Wayne Ripley.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Gay (Crabbe); son, Darren and partner, Amanda Torrey; daughter, Wanda Grotton and his siblings; extended family, Wayne and Tara Grotton, Barry and Wendy Crabbe; seven grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Shelby,
Nick and Kyan Leighton, Mykenna and Vanessa Grotton, Lucas Bickford and Zac Leo; two great grandchildren who made his world go around, Navaeh and Cooper Connors; several nieces and nephews, close friends, Charlie, Wayne, Ed, Barry and John.
Services will be private.
