Obituary for Caroline Louise Charette (Theriault)

Bangor – Caroline Louise Charette, 86, died peacefully with her loving family by her side June 21, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and COPD. She was born September 4, 1930, in Old Town, the daughter of Joseph and Imelda Theriault.

Louise was a remarkable lady who was both brave, courageous, and most of all very loving. She loved raising her family, even though times were difficult. She was able to teach them many valuable lessons that stayed with them throughout their own lives. Louise was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking as well as collecting spoons and thimbles. Louise will be remembered as a happy and feisty woman who loved life. She was often the life of the party! Louise was very close to her family. She enjoyed music and saying her prayers.

The family would like to give special thanks to Beacon Hospice, and the entire staff at Ross Manor for the care given to Louise; but especially to her daughters, Barbara and Ruth Ann for all the selfless love and care they heaped upon Mom.

In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by a son, Danny Hazelton; husband Albert Charette; a very dear friend, Alton Carr; her sister, Irene St. Peter; and several brothers. She is survived by loving daughters, Barbara Nadeau and husband Gary, and Ruth Ann Shirley and fiancé, Alvin Merritt; sons, Bobby Hazelton and wife Sharon, Billy Hazelton and partner Sandra Carpenter, David Hazelton and wife Dotti, Alphonso Hazelton and wife Katrina, and Michael Hazelton and wife Teresa; a brother, Joseph Theriault; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, especially the Sauciers and Boutins.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday June 26, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with Pastor Vinny Greene, of the Charleston Church officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
