Bangor - Maxine Edna Alberta DeLuca, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017, in Bangor. Maxine was born February 8, 1925, in Levant, to Walter and Edna Grant.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Bernice Thompson, Latona Friedman, Robena Thompson, Katrena Mank, and Shirley Druce. Maxine graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1942. She, like many other women of her generation, worked in a defense plant during World War II. She worked for 29 years at the New Atlantic Restaurant in Bangor, and in her later years, enjoyed working with children at the Glad Tidings Daycare. Maxine loved working on crafts and looked forward to going to craft fairs every year. Her crocheted Christmas ornaments and baby afghans have been enjoyed by many in her family.

Maxine accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1964. In the following years, she shared her faith with those she met by word, deed, encouragement, and example. She loved her God, her family, and her country; and she will be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where friends and family may call 1 p.m. until time of service.
