John Joseph  Kokoska, Jr.
BANGOR-John J. Kokoska Jr., 68, passed away March 12, 2017, after a brief illness, with his loving family by his side. He was born January 10, 1949, in Stamford, CT., the son of John and Louise Kokoska. John graduated from St. Francis College in Biddeford. Following graduation, he taught English at MDI High School, later selling vehicles at Dow Motors in Ellsworth. John and his family then moved from Franklin to Calais where he became a full time United States Customs Inspector until his retirement in 1996. John married Diana Anderson of Franklin and celebrated 40 years of marriage on February 25, 2017. John was extremely proud of his two children: John, a Lieutenant at the Old Town Fire Department, and Jodi, a Major in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Leavenworth, KS. John loved vacationing in Florida and was planning on spending future winters with his wife in Cocoa Beach, FL. John is predeceased by his parents, with whom he remained very close until their deaths. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Diana, are a son, John J. Kokoska III and wife Kelly of Hermon; a daughter, Jodi D. Krippel and husband Steven of Fort Leavenworth, KS; grandchildren, John IV, Katelyn, Emilee, and William; a brother, Gerald Kokoska and Jane of Virginia Beach, VA; father-in-law, Donald Anderson of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Donna Abbott and husband Brian of Franklin; a brother-in-law, JR Anderson and wife Tina of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.
