Obituary for Harriet Eleanor Noddin

Harriet Eleanor Noddin
Harriet E. Noddin
Chicopee – Winterport - Bangor
Harriet Eleanor (Henry) Noddin, 90, passed away November 27, 2016 at Eastside Rehabilitation & Living Center, Bangor, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was born in West Springfield, MA., July 10, 1926, the daughter of Gilbert and Anna Mae (Most) Henry.
Harriet’s first loves were her Lord, family, people, music, and children. She has been God’s faithful servant since childhood, teaching children in Sunday School and in home Bible clubs and using her beautiful voice in choirs and solos. She loved to play violin and taught herself piano.
Harriet graduated from Westfield State with a Bachelor's Degree and was a tenured teacher in Chicopee Falls, MA. Harriet was very active in a variety of endeavors at First Central Baptist Church in Chicopee.
In 1970, Harriet and Ray moved to Winterport with their four children. They involved themselves and their family for many years at Columbia Street Baptist Church in Bangor. This provided, along with many labors of love by them and other dear friends, the creation of the Winterport Baptist Church which was very precious to her.
Harriet continued to substitute teach at the Leroy H. Smith School in Winterport, teach Sunday School, and open their home to Bible Study. Harriet was also involved with many Community Activities.
Harriet always put her family's needs ahead of her own, in loving activities, fun times, and support. She will be greatly missed until we meet again with our Lord Jesus.
She was predeceased by her parents and five siblings.
Surviving are, her husband, Ray C. Noddin of Winterport and Dedham; four children, Susan Severance and her husband, Ronald of Readfield, Virginia Knowles and her husband, Stephen, of Beacon, N.Y., Ray C. Noddin II of Bangor and his fiancé, Kari Leach of Bar Harbor, Douglas Noddin and his wife, Holly of Dedham; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful care, respect, and dignity Harriet received from the staff while at Eastside.
Funeral services will be held 11 am. Friday December 2, 2016 at the Winterport Baptist Church, 100 Coles Corner Rd., Winterport. The service will be followed by a graveside gathering and a reception back at Winterport Baptist.
Those wishing to remember her in a special way may contribute in her memory to the Winterport Baptist Church.
