Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Galen Howard can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Galen Roger Howard

Galen Roger  Howard
Bangor-Galen R. Howard died Oct 20, 2016 at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born March 19, 1937 in Woodland Maine, the son of Harold and Gladys (Curtis) Howard. Galen served in United States Air Force and retired from Maine National Guard in 1993. He was employed at Canteen from 1961-1975 then at General Electric from 1975-2000. He was a member of Kenduskeag Lodge #137. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters Rita Elmstead and Marilyn Howard. Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years Beverly (Bemis) Howard are his three sons, Jeffrey Howard of Glenburn, Wayne Howard of Newburgh, Keith Howard of Hampden and his daughter, Yolanda (Howard) Greenier of Pittsburgh, PA; his eight grandchildren, Camron Howard, Jillian Howard, Christoph Howard, Elijah Greenier, Nathanael Greenier, Benjamin Greenier, Isaac Greenier, and Samuel Greenier; his one great grandchild, Atreyu Browne; his sisters, Novella Howard, Clarice Dickerson and brother, Dale Howard. The family would like to send out a special Thanks to the Maine Veterans Home for providing such great care to Galen over this past year.
