Obituary for Barry William Greene
Barry William Greene, 63, passed away at home, June 26, 2016, with his loving wife and son by his side. He was born in Castine, June 8, 1953, the son of William Greene and Hilda Sparrow.
Barry served in the US Army in Germany from 1972-75 during the Vietnam War. Barry worked for Logan Painting for 35 years and was a 12 year member of the Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. #244, Bangor, where he was an avid pool player and loved all his lady friends. Barry and his wife Brenda had recently celebrated 25 years together in February.
In addition to his wife, Brenda (Mulldune) Greene; Barry is survived by his mother, Hilda Sparrow; son, John R. Hawes and his companion, Erica Cyr; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jade, and Christian Hawes; step-grandchildren, Mackenzie Cyr, Dezarae and Chantal Ackley; brothers, Charlie Sparrow and wife, Nancy, Bernard Sparrow and his wife, Sarah; sister, Linda Hubbard and her companion, Wendell; mother-in-law, Mary Mulldune and her companion, Mike Tammady; sister-in-law, Linda Meachum and husband, David; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Eastern Maine, as well as to Tonia Bastey for being with us through the last 15 months. We love you Tonia.
A memorial service will be held 12 pm, Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, with Rev. Grace Bartlett of First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 11am until time of service. Interment with Military Honors will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, immediately following the service. Relatives and friends are invited to share in conversation and refreshments at the Bangor Elks Lodge #244, 108 Odlin Road, following the interment.
