Dedham – Dwayne “Tom” Murphy Sr. born July 30, 1963, passed away peacefully in his home on January 21, 2016.
He was born in Portland ME, spending most of his life in the Penobscot County area. Graduated from Brewer High School in 1982. He married his wife, Amy Murphy, on June 26, 1999. He was an avid outdoors lover, enjoyed tattooing and driving truck. But most of all spending quality time with family and friends. Tom was survived by his loving wife Amy (Gomm) Murphy, and four children, Dwayne Murphy Jr., Robert Murphy and partner Bekki, Delcina Gomm and husband Joe, and Amber Gomm and fiancé Mario. He is also survived by his siblings David Meachum and wife Linda, Donna Burgess and husband Hank, and Diamond Murphy and partner Jeff as well as three grandchildren, special friend Ike, and many extended family members and devoted friends. He is predeceased by his father, George Murphy, mother Natalie Townes Murphy, and brother Tom “Hunter” Ricker.
Services will be held at a day and time to be announced. Memorial donations in Dwayne’s memory may be made to Amy Murphy, 896 Bald Mountain Road, Dedham, Maine 04429. Condolences may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com
