Obituary for Mildred Tyler

Mildred “Midge” (Harvey) Tyler, 74, passed in the arms of her loving sister, Linda, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to be safe in the arms of her beloved husband, Alton, on November 15, 2015. She was born November 26, 1940, in Lubec, the daughter of Edward “Dan” Harvey and Mary (Bridges) Pushee and a loving step-father, Roger Lee Blake.

Midge graduated from Lubec High School. She married the love of her life, Alton Tyler, on September 5, 1959. Midge and Alton worked side by side in the food service/production at the University of Maine for many years. Midge and Alton enjoyed collecting antique automobiles and sports cars and taking drives in their BMW convertible on beautiful summer days. She was an accomplished crafter and seamstress and made many beautiful quilts, afghans, needlework pictures, and dolls. Midge loved poetry and reading and spending time with family and friends.

Midge is survived by her siblings, Linda Moores and husband Gary, Gina Lyons, Russell Harvey, Robert Blake and wife Janet, Oliver Blake and wife Virginia; her special sister cousins, Mary Morrison, Betty Cantlon, Gloria Brown, and Jean Clemons; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Alton in 2011, her mother Mary Pushee in 2006, and her father Edward Harvey in 1973.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, November 28, at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec. Family and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments after the service at the Mary Pike Hall. Donations on Midge’s memory may be made to the Christian Temple Church, P. O.
