Obituary for Kenneth Leo Cormier

Kenneth L. Cormier
Bangor
Kenneth L. Cormier, 63, passed away peacefully at home September 26, 2015. He was born November 24, 1951, in Bangor, the son of Henry Cormier and Norma (Tozier) Cormier. Raised in Bucksport, he combed the stacks of the local library and began his lifelong love affair with books. In 1972 he met the love of his life, Jennifer (Ward) Cormier. They married in 1976 and together raised four children. Ken spent many years as a long haul truck driver and as an estimator for a local roofing company. Throughout his life, Ken had passions for many things. He loved his Harleys and over the years built many. He was a long time member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and spent many years with friends and family going to rendezvous and participating in living history events. He was a proud member of The Widowmakers, a buckskinning club and brotherhood, where he met some of his closest and dearest friends. After working long hours Ken always found the time to attend every game, recital, swim meet, speech competition and scouting event for his children and was without a doubt the loudest cheerleader in the stands. Ken was happiest when surrounded by his family enjoying a holiday gathering, Friday night pizza or backyard cookout. Ken also served in the US Army and the Maine Army National Guard.

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Henry and David. In addition to his loving wife of 39 years Jennifer, he is survived by his four children; Joshua, Erin Porter and husband Stephen, Michael, Emily Stanley and husband Tom; grandchildren Hollis, Callum and Victoria, and sisters Susan and Judy. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces , nephews, cousins and special friends.

The family would like to thank the extended team of doctors and medical staff that cared for Ken throughout the years, especially Dr. Vincent Michaud.

Ken always wanted his obituary to read as follows, "Ken Cormier, frontier hero, legend in his own mind, dead, finally."
