Obituary for Robert Henry Kearns

Robert Henry  Kearns
Robert H. Kearns, 61, known to friends and family as “Bobby”, passed away September 24, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born in Bangor, October 14, 1953, the son of Robert and Florence Kearns.
Bobby attended Brewer schools and graduated from Brewer High School, where he was proud to be a member of the nationally ranked Brewer High football team. After graduation, he joined the US Navy, serving from 1971-74. Bobby worked numerous construction jobs, including the construction of Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant in New Hampshire. He retired May 1, 2015 from the Maine D.O.T. where he worked with the bridge crew for 30 years.
Bobby was an avid sports fan, his favorite sport being football. He loved ice fishing, and being a Boy Scout Cub Master for his two sons. Bobby liked to cook and always looked forward to spending time with his family at family cookouts.
Bobby was predeceased by his son, Adam; his father, Robert; and his brother, Larry Kearns. He is survived by his mother, Florence; his wife, Doreen (Moody) Kearns; his daughters, Tonya Bean and her husband Kevin, Renee Kearns-Pal and her husband, Steve; his son, Alex Kearns; his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Kearns-Bryer; grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Cameron and Caleb; and his brothers, Ronnie Kearns and wife, Sandy and Terry Kearns and wife, Karen; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 pm, Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Columbia Street Baptist Church, 63 Columbia St., Bangor, with Rev. Dr. Stan Moody, officiating. Interment will be at Pittsfield Village Cemetery, Pittsfield. Those who wish to remember Bobby in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Brewer Athletics Boosters, 79 Parkway South, Brewer, ME 04412.
