Obituary for Roland Morris Towle

BANGOR – Roland M.Towle, 75, died after a brief hospitalization August 16, 2015. He was born April 19, 1940 in Dexter, Maine, the son of Morris S. and Alice Mae (Smith) Towle.

Roland graduated from Dexter High School, class of 1958 and Husson College, classes of 1964 and 1983. He served in the Air National Guard during college. He was an active member of the Jaycees for many years. His career included employment in the capacity of Controller at Sleepers/Jack & Jean Shops and METCO John Deere dealership.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond and Roger Towle and Frank Smith. Surviving are his sister, Helen Smith of Corinth; two brothers, Lawrence Towle of Corinth and Linwood Towle; daughters, Pam Gabe and her husband, Todd of Bangor and Cathy Towle of Palmer, AK; one son, Morris Towle and his fiancée, Janet Manzo of Glenburn; five grandchildren and his loving dog, Rudy.

At his request, a private memorial service to honor his memory will be held at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
