Obituary for Ida Florine Adams (Robbins)

Ida Florine  Adams (Robbins)
Ida Florine Adams, 87, passed away peacefully, July 10, 2015. She was born in Howland, July 27, 1927, the daughter of Charles F. and Eva M. Robbins.
Florine graduated as Valedictorian from Howland High School. After high school, she attended and graduated from Fisher College in Boston. Florine worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center for over 25 years in the X-ray Department. She married Randolph S. Adams in August of 1949, and they spent over 60 years together.
Florine had many talents; she was a pianist, a talented gardener who could make anything grow, and was adept at sewing and needlework, and handcrafted many beautiful projects. She loved to spend time outdoors and enjoyed many summers spent at the camp on Hopkinā€™s Pond. Florine was also an avid bridge player and she had a great sense of humor. She always enjoyed a good joke.
In addition to her parents and husband, Florine was predeceased by her brother, Hollis. She is survived by her four daughters, Marie Durant and husband, Steve of Hermon, Debora Sprague and husband, David of Hendersonville, NC, Susan Duffey and husband James of Scituate, MA, and Elizabeth Adams of West Roxbury, MA; grandchildren, Nicki Beaulieu, Adam Beaulieu and wife, Nicole, Brooke Mason, Eric Sprague, Colin Sprague, Kevin Duffey, and Erin Duffey; niece, Sabine Burnham and husband, Alan; as well as her dear friends at the Park East Villa.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Pine Grove Remembrance Center, 1347 Hammond St., Bangor, with Rev. Grace Bartlett of First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to stay for a time of conversation and refreshments following the service. Interment will be private for the family at Lincoln Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Florine in a special way may make gifts in her memory to CancerCare of Maine, c/o EMHS Foundation, P.O.
