Obituary for Nancy Pennypacker LaHaye (Pennypacker)

BANGOR – Nancy Pennypacker LaHaye, 92, passed away peacefully at Ross Manor with family by her side, May 21, 2015. She was born September 2, 1922, in Bangor, the daughter of John O. and Frances (Lambert) Pennypacker.

She grew up in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1940. Nancy helped organize many of her high school class reunions and looked forward to socializing with her classmates. Nancy was employed for 40 years as an office secretary at Dole Electric Co. and Twin City Electric. She loved to cook, enjoyed candle pin bowling, playing cards, the Red Sox, and going to Hammond St. Senior Center. During her teenage years she liked to ice skate with her friends on the Kenduskeag Stream in Bangor. Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas and spending them with her family. She was a three time cancer survivor and faced each challenge with courage and a positive attitude. Nancy had great faith in God and attended church until her health prevented her. Nancy looked forward to the many weekend visits she received from her granddaughter Heather Robbins and great granddaughter Brianna Robbins, while a resident of Ross Manor. There is no doubt Heaven has a place for this special lady.
