Obituary for Robert Leonal Osgood

BREWER- Robert L. Osgood, 86, died unexpectedly at his home, May 17, 2015. He was born May 5, 1929, in Easton, the son of Harry L. and Alfaretta (White) Osgood.
Robert graduated from Easton High School, Class of 1946. He served in the United State Air Force, and United States Air Force Reserve. After his military service he was a Telecommunication Lead Supervisor at Loring Air Force Base, 1961-1984. Robert loved skiing and basketball while in school, and as he got older he enjoyed snowshoeing, jogging, and he worked out daily. He followed sports on TV, enjoyed horse races, and loved playing the piano. “Greatest man I’ve ever known”, is how he is described by most all who know him. Robert had an unusual sense of humor, and he loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Marie R. (Garrison) Osgood, and a brother, Herbert Osgood. He is survived by his son, Robert K. Osgood and his wife, Tamara of Eddington; two daughters, Vicki Wilcox and Sandi Bishop both of Bangor; a brother, Fred Osgood of Easton; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4-6 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main St., Brewer, where funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
