Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Matthew Shaw can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Matthew Donald  Shaw
Winterport - Matthew D. Shaw, 36, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 16, 2015. Matt was born May 11, 1978 in Bangor. Matt married the love of his life, Zann, on September 21, 2014. He had an amazing sense of humor, loved cooking for friends and family and creating music, especially with drums and keyboards. He enjoyed playing video games and had a passion for working with adolescents and adults with mental and behavioral needs. He was an amazing Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. His outgoing and caring personality will be remembered forever by those who were privileged enough to know him. Matt is survived by his wife, Rose "Zann" Shaw, and his parents, Don and Connie Shaw, father-in-law Bob Reynolds; siblings, Mike Shaw and wife Heather, Melissa Whitcomb and husband Ryan; nieces Makayla Shaw and Kylie Whitcomb, and nephew Jacob Shaw; grandmother Helen Shaw; uncles Stanley Lahpier and wife Christie, Rick Lanphier and fiancée Kathy Merrifield, Tim Lanphier and wife Karen, Charlie Gilmore, David Shaw and wife Barbara; aunts Beverly Akkerman, Lynn Johnson and husband Bailey, Kathleen Hall, Donna Hathaway and husband Pete Terry, Lucy Seekins, Karen Robertson and husband Roger, and Christine Look and husband Steve; and many cousins and friends. Matt was predeceased by a brother, Jason; mother-in-law, Robin Reynolds; grandparents, Stanley and Virginia Lanphier, Carl Shaw and Irene Jenkins; uncle Willy Hall; aunts Gail Gilmore and Debbie Lanphier; cousins Daivd Hall and Heather Hathaway. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 4-7pm Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith 45 Western Ave., Hampden where a celebration of Matt’s life will be held 11:00am Saturday, March 21, 2015. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Matt's name to his favorite charity/organization Donate Life America (www.donatelife.net) Also, in Matt's memory, if you haven't yet, please become and organ donor.
