Andrew Charles  Frace
Andrew C. Frace, 65, passed away, January 30, 2015 at his home in Orono. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, July 24, 1949, the son of Roland and Molly (McCoy) Frace. He served honorably in the United States Air Force serving a tour in Vietnam.
Andy was a well-known teacher having taught at Swans Island Elementary, George B. Weatherbee Middle School, Central Middle School, Hampden Academy and mostly recently serving as the Director of enjoyed coaching at Central High School, Hampden Academy and John Bapst High School over the years. He was a wonderful motivator and mentor who was able to bring out the best in all that knew him.
Whenever anyone thought of Andy, the one word that came to mind the most was “Charisma”. He had a great sense of humor that went along with his contagious smile. Andy was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Andy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pamela (Eckert) Frace; sons, Evan Frace and his wife Rachel Jones; Nathan Frace and his partner, Kim Grant; and Lucas Frace; grandchildren, Jacob, Sophie, Taylor, Elliot and Parker; sister Jackie Guagliardo; brother, Peter (PJ) Frace and his wife Peggy; brother-in-law Richard Werner; father-in-law, Philip Eckert; sisters and brother-in-laws, Lori and Mel Garcia, Tammi Bowden and Larry Eckert; as well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Mara Frace; infant son, Brady Frace; sister, Patricia Werner; mother-in-law, Marguerite Eckert; and brother-in-law, Joe Guagliardo.
Family and friends are invited to call 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Skehan Recreation Center (formerly Hampden Academy Gym), 1 Main Rd, North, Hampden.
