Obituary for Geneva Catherine Rohn

Geneva Catherine (Wellington) Rohn, 85, died peacefully, on January 25, 2015 at Woodlands Senior Living in Brewer. She was born on November 10, 1929 in Newark NJ, the daughter of George & Florence (Holzworth) Wellington and stepdaughter of Gertrude Wellington.

Prior to retiring, Geneva "Ginnie" was an Assistant Vice President for a regional Savings and Loan in New Jersey. She retired to the Bangor area in 1985. She enjoyed her summers on Branch Lake and Lake Cobbossee, and was always ready to travel or reminisce about her travels with her childhood friend Peggy LaBarbera. She enjoyed the Bangor Symphony, meetings of Chapter A of PEO, and supported local groups through various boards and committees. She was an active member at All Souls Congregational Church and especially loved the activities of the Garden and Fair committees, as well as the Women's Association.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Rohn and wife Carol of Brewer, ME and Philip Rohn and wife Judy of N. Andover, MA; Granddaughter Jennifer Babine of S Portland; Granddaughter Cate Cote and husband Chad of Windham; Grandson Capt. John Rohn, U.S. Army and wife Jennifer of Cambridge, MA; Grandson Ben Rohn of N Andover; Granddaughter Debbie Palavacini of N Andover; brother Richard Wellington and wife Deanna of Manahawkin, NJ. Ginnie was predeceased by her husband John P. Rohn III and her brother Charles Wellington. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of the Woodlands Senior Living and Brewer Center for Rehabilitation for their care and support.

A Service of Remembrance will be held 1pm Saturday February 7, 2015 at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher officiating.
