Obituary for Margaret Mae Getchell
Margaret “Margi” Getchell, 71, wife of David M. Getchell Sr., died peacefully at her home November 13, 2014. She was born April 21, 1943 in Bangor to Charles E. and Mary E. (McCarron) Sickles.
Margi was employed by Commonsense Housing for the past 28 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband David of 52 years; three children, Vicki Hamm, Valri Berkoff and her husband, Tony, David Jr. and his wife, Tina; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Matteah and Makenna Hamm, Jasmine, Alexis, Dakota, Dallas Getchell and Courtney Berkoff; foster sons, Chris and Nick. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Charlene and son-in-law, Paul. The family would like to thank Dr. Jack Forbush, the staff of Brewer Rehabilitation & Living Center and Davita Dialysis Center for her care.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor from 11am to 1pm, Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Private interment will be in the Eddy Cemetery, Eddington. Those who wish to remember Margi in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Commonsense Housing, 15 Riverside Drive, Eddington, ME 04428.
