James “Jinxie” Francis, 62, beloved father of Erin and loving husband of Kate, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on August 13, 2014.
He was born October 6, 1951 in Old Town, son of Manford and Phyllis (Lewis) Francis.
Jinxie was a member of the Penobscot Nation.
He enjoyed his years working as a crane operator. Jinxie spent his final years volunteering for Penquis (Lynx) Transportation as a driver.
He lived for both his natural family and extended family of Exile brothers. His huge laugh and loving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife and daughter are; four sisters, Lisa Morin, Alice Nicola, Kathy Brown and Cindy Nicola; two brothers, Nick Nicola and Steven Nicola.
He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Hostnick. The family greatly appreciates the exceptional support from friends and neighbors during this difficult time. They also wish to thank the wonderful staff at EMMC’s ICU, for the outstanding care and attention given to Jinxie.
A celebration of Jinxie’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday August 22, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St. Brewer, followed by a rideout to the Exiles’ Club House at Green Lake, to continue the celebration. Those wishing to remember Jinxie in a special way may contribute in his memory to EMMC Palliative Care, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, 04402.
