Obituary for Bonny Belinda Black

EDDINGTON – Bonny B. (Gary) Black passed away July 22, 2014 at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born Feb. 19, 1949 in Bangor, the daughter of Luther I. and Beverly R. (Lewis) Gary.

Bonny is survived by her husband, James M. Black; a son, Jason E. and his wife, Kim; two granddaughters, Brooke Black and Eva L. Black; two brothers, Brent and his wife, Gayle of Florida and Scott and his wife, Beth of Utah. Bonny had several nephews, nieces and in-laws.

In her early years, Bonny worked in the restaurant business and was a manager for the Ground Round, McDonalds and Pizza Hut. She opened a daycare center for several years as Bonny loved children. Kids at the daycare called Bonny “Mimi”. Bonny was happiest with the kids, showing them how to cook. Being a be a kid herself, she loved playing with them. Bonny loved her kids and they loved her.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Friday, July 25, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor where a memorial service will be held 10am Saturday, July 26, 2014. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service Saturday. Those who wish to remember Bonny in a special way may contribute to the Michelle Sleeper Pediatric Oncology Fund, in care of EMHS Foundation, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931.
