Obituary for Mildred Pauline Baber

BANGOR – Mildred Pauline (Carmichael) Baber, 91, wife of the late MSgt Horace G. “Sam” Baber quietly passed July 21, 2014, to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family. She was born May 27, 1923 in Bridgewater, daughter of Barry Leigh and Nettie (Hopkins) Carmichael.

Mildred had formerly been employed at Spot Bilt Co. of Bangor. She was a life member of the VFW #4298 of Dexter, the American Legion Auxiliary of Etna/Carmel, the John R. Chase Chapter #129 O.E.S. and the Golden Harvest Grange #33 both of Carmel.

Surviving are two sons: Charles H. Sechrest Jr. and his daughters of England and Harold L. Carson and his family of Dover-Foxcroft; ten grandchildren; a special grandson, Charles “Ricky” Sechrest and his mother Barbara C. Lee; several great-grandchildren. Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her wonderful Glad Tidings Family whom she loved very much. In addition to her husband Horace, she was predeceased by a son, Arnold L. Carson.

A funeral service will be held 11am Friday, July 25, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with the Rev. Ron Morris, pastor of the Glad Tidings Church, officiating. Friends are welcome to call 10am until time of service Friday. Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Those who wish to remember Mildred in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the memorial fund of the Glad Tidings Church, 1033 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401.
