Obituary for Royce Dean Ripley

CARMEL - Royce Dean Ripley, 17, died unexpectedly at his home on April 16, 2014. He was born on June 3, 1996 in Bangor, the beloved son of Dean J. and Melanie L. Ripley.
Royce was a Senior at Hermon High School where he played football and was a member of the JROTC. Royce had planned to enlist with the army National Guard after graduation.
Royce cherished his family and the closeness they shared. He was a kind, loving young man with a generous heart. He loved to make people laugh and was always able to brighten anybody's day. His smile, comedic nature and strong hugs will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Royce valued his friendships, especially with best friends Kyle Veillette and Austin Wood. He held a special place in his heart for "Auntie Suzie". He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time at "The Ripley Resort", the family camp at East Musquash Lake. He will be greatly missed by his dogs "Jo-Jo" and "Baybay", along with "James Earl Jones", the family cat.
Royce leaves behind his mother, Melanie, and father, Dean, who loved and cherished their "baby boy". Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Billy and Judy Grass of Lambert Lake, and paternal grandparents Boyde and Joyce Ripley of Topsfield, along with aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and relatives are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life from 4-7p.m., Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings and Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
