The Arrangement Conference
The best way to plan a service or tribute is to meet with one of our funeral
directors to discuss the many options available in funeral service. Our professional
staff are trained to help educate the consumer to why people select one service
over another, various cost factors, and the information we need to complete
our job. On average, an arrangement conference is between 2 and 2 1/2 hours
long and closest next-of-kin need to be the people in attendance to make
these decisions. The following is a agenda of an arrangement conference:
- Compile Vital Statistics for the State of Maine required
paperwork
- Death Certificate
- Disposition Permit
- Medical Examiners Release (required for cremation services)
- Cremation Authorization (required for cremation services)
- Family's History Information for Obituary Notice
- Discuss service offerings to meet the families needs
- Traditional Service type
- Cremation services
- Combination traditional and cremation
- Select any funeral service merchandise needed
- Complete and Sign a Statement of Funeral Goods and Services
that reflects an itemized listing of expense
that shows service total costs.
- Review and sign any Veteran’s Benefit
paperwork (if veteran)
- Contact and review service requirements
with clergy
If advanced planning services and funding is desired the following
additional paperwork would need to be completed:
- Maine Mortuary Trust Agreement
- Guaranteed Payment
- Credit for Services
